Social Studies
In social studies, students often work in groups, exploring and researching different topics, events, people, and places. The students ask questions and pursue their questions through research and investigation. All year long, the fifth graders are thinking about why we study history, what affects peoples' freedoms and opportunities, how perspective affects the way people look at the world, and how the past shapes who we are today.
